These songs are more honest than Kinsey ever thought she could get.
Erin Kinsey has always shown vulnerability through her songwriting, but until this point in her career, she didn’t realize just how open she could truly be. Now that she’s uncovered a sound that is uniquely hers and a confidence to speak the truth, the 23-year-old has decided to hold nothing back on her new EP, Gettin’ Away With It.
Today, October 11, the RECORDS Nashville artist unleashes a collection of eight tracks that were penned directly from the heart and give fans something to relate to, especially if they are experiencing the rollercoaster of emotions that is your 20s right alongside her. The difference between this collection of songs and her last EP is that Kinsey has learned even more lessons and gained valuable real-life experiences in that time. With these songs, sheis bringing the sass, revengeful energy and confidence, all while pouring out complete honesty in her personal stories.
“I’ve never been prouder of a group of songs. I’ve never felt more honest about a group of songs,” Kinsey told Country Now at Elevation in Beaver Creek, CO. “I didn’t know that you could try to make it in country music while being yourself and it feels like I’m truly getting away with murder. Like, I shouldn’t be allowed to do this. But I’m just so excited about it. I feel like I’m getting to just say what I’m going through and what’s been on my heart. And it feels like I’m getting away with it.”
The EP kicks off with two current fan-favorites, “I Ain’t Crazy” and “Matchmaker,” and continues with slower, more raw display of heartbreak in “Best of My 20s.”
“We wrote this song. It was an idea that Josh Kerr had. It’s called ‘Best of My 20s.’ It’s about overcoming and even when you go through hard things and even if it takes up a lot of your time in your life, you still have so much more to live for and to grow into and you learn so much from it,” she shared proudly of the tune.
Kinsey then switches gears to a sassier energy on “Tabs On Me,” which finds the rising star realizing her ex is going around asking about her and trying to see what she’s been up to now that they’re no longer together.
Sitting at track five is the final advanced release to come from the project, the title track. With this song, listeners get a glimpse of the edgier, confidence-soaked sound that Kinsey is bringing to the table with this collection. Co-written by Kinsey alongside Lauren McLamb and Brandon Hood and produced by Josh Kerr, “Gettin’ Away With It,” was inspired by the “coolest person” she knows, her younger sister.
“She is the girl that every boy wants to date and every girl wants to be her best friend. She styles all my clothes for all of my shows, and I wrote about her because I just think the world of her.”
While of these eight tracks are uniquely different, they all showcase important moments in Kinsey’s life and prove that there is power in vulnerability.
“It’s a very encompassing project of a lot of what I’ve been through in the last few years and more than anything, the songs are so fun to play live. I’m so proud of them and I think they’re cool,” Kinsey expressed. “It’s the first time I felt like my music is cool. So I’m just excited for it to be out.”

At the top of 2025, Erin Kinsey will return to Europe and the UK as a supporting act for Restless Road’s Last Rodeo Tour. This will be her first time performing overseas outside of the Country 2 Country festival, meaning she’s set to perform in some brand-new places while having the luxury of joining Restless Road on their double decker bus.
“Honestly, it’ll be such an adventure, but it’s gonna be so great to just go over to a completely other side of the world and see that the music is still connecting. I’ve always seen through numbers on the back end that I do have fans over there and people that know the music, but to actually see them and look at them in the face and take pictures with them, i’m just so excited. I’m so pumped,” she gushed.
To prepare for this upcoming run, Kinsey revealed she and her band are currently working on a completely new set list that will to incorporate her new music. So the lucky fans getting to catch her overseas will be the first to experience the revitalized show.
